Navigate your vessel down the river, through eddies and surf the rapids, propelled only by the flippers on your feet. Take in the beautiful native scenery at eye level. There is something for everyone on this excursion. Beautiful native scenery, play holes, and awesome rapids to navigate your way through as you take the river on at eye level. You are in charge of your vessel - propelled by the flippers on your feet, our guides are there to encourage and motivate you and help out where necessary. Awesome family fun. Confidence in treading water is necessary for this adventure.

Additional Information
  • You will need to be comfortable in moving water. You will be kicking/swimming in the water for approx. 45mins – 1hr. We will ask you this when you check-in and inform your guide so they can discuss precautions with you as sledging can be physically demanding.
  • Kaitiaki Adventures will give all the training required and will assist you throughout the trip.
  • We enter the river below the waterfall and sledge the Grade 3 section of the Kaituna River.
  • We will have an adventure photographer take photos of your experience which will be available to view and purchase on completion of your trip.
  • Water Temperature: in the summer months from October to March expect 17 to 22 degrees. In the winter months from April to September expect 11 to 16 degrees.
